About the
Tennessee Farmers Market Trail

Our Mission

The Tennessee Farmers Market Trail (TFMT) fosters connections among Tennessee growers and food producers with the community at large by creating awareness through statewide engagement strategies. Using both promotional and educational avenues, the TFMT encourages locals and tourists alike to benefit from the nutritional access, sustainability, and diversity efforts offered at TN farmers markets while celebrating the state's rich agricultural traditions to create a healthy and inclusive food future.

In all that we do, we are guided by a spirit of collaboration, integrity, and respect. We believe that by working together, we can create a future where Tennessee's farmers markets are not just places to buy and sell, but vibrant hubs of community life, where friendships are forged, traditions celebrated, and the bonds between growers, makers, and consumers grow stronger with each passing season.

Our Values

Diversity

We are committed to bridging the gap between Tennessee's rich agricultural heritage and its vibrant present, celebrating the diversity of our local producers and artisans. Through our trail, we aim to create opportunities for these individuals to thrive, connecting them directly with consumers who value the freshness, quality, and authenticity of locally sourced goods.

Inclusivity

Inclusivity is at the heart of our mission. We believe that everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. By partnering with communities facing food insecurity, we work to break down barriers and ensure that healthy food is accessible to those who need it most. Through education, outreach, and collaboration, we strive to empower all Tennesseans to make healthy choices for themselves and their families.

Sustainability

Central to our vision is a commitment to sustainability. We recognize the interconnectedness of our actions and their impact on the environment, and we are dedicated to promoting practices that preserve and protect our natural resources for future generations. From supporting regenerative agriculture to reducing waste, we seek to minimize our ecological footprint while maximizing the health and vitality of our communities.
